MORRISVILLE, NC – May 2008 – Inkworks announces the release of a new trading card collection based on the DreamWorks Animation theatrical summer release of KUNG FU PANDA that opens in theaters on June 6th.

Enthusiastic, big and a little clumsy, Po the Panda works in his family’s noodle shop while daydreaming about becoming a Kung Fu master. His dreams soon become reality when he is unexpectedly chosen to join the world of Kung Fu and study alongside his idols—the legendary fighters Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey—under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu. MORRISVILLE, NC - May 8, 2008 - Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising and Inkworks today announced new premium trading card collection based on the upcoming X-Files motion picture along with a small subset of cards from fan favorite episodes.  The collection will be released July 25 to coincide with highly anticipated debut of the motion picture THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE.

"We are particularly excited about this collection, and we anticipate that fans of 'The X-Files' will share our passion," said Virginia King, vice president of Fox Licensing and Merchandising.  "In building this collection, we have benefited from our close collaboration with the film's production team, as well as from invaluable support from writer-director-producer Chris Carter, writer-producer Frank Spotnitz, and our long term licensee Inkworks.  There are a few firsts in this trading card release that will energize both retailers and fans."

The 72-card series will feature the franchise's iconic lead characters Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, as well as the new film's action and intrigue.  This will be the first new "The X-Files"  trading card product from Inkworks since the sold-out THE X-FILES: CONNECTIONS trading card set in 2005.  In addition to the base set, collectors can also find several levels of randomly-inserted bonus cards including: 

AUTOGRAPH CARDS - David Duchovny (Agent Mulder), Gillian Anderson (Agent Scully), Frank Spotnitz (Producer/Writer) and Chris Carter (Director/Writer).  Additional signers to be announced.

4.16.2008 Kathie Lee Gifford the latest headliner to sign autographs for the Donruss Americana series
 

ARLINGTON, TX (April 16, 2008) - Just days after the major announcement was made that Kathie Lee Gifford was joining the staff of NBC's "Today", officials at Donruss confirmed that the former "Live" star has signed autographs for the up-coming release of Donruss Celebrity Cuts. The second release in the Donruss Americana series, Celebrity Cuts is set to hit hobby stores the middle of next month.

"This is the latest celebrity making major headlines that we will be including in the Americana series," said Donruss Marketing Director Scott Prusha. "We continue to push to obtain signatures from those making news, from TV stars to presidents, this is what sets our products apart."

Gifford signed autographs that will make their debut in Donruss Celebrity Cuts, set to release next week.

She starred with Regis Philbin on the popular morning show "Live" for 15 years. Philbin signed cards for the popular Fans of the Game insert back in 2004 and Donruss has confirmed that he has signed again and will be included in Celebrity Cuts, as well.

Arlington, TX - When Ultimate Fighting Welterweight Champion Matt "The Terror" Serra steps into the Octagon this weekend to face Georges "Rush" St. Pierre in their highly-anticipated rematch, Donruss will be there.

Donruss has signed on as a sponsor of Serra, who defeated St. Pierre a year ago in UFC 69 to win the UFC® Welterweight title via TKO in the first round. The Donruss logo will be seen on Serra's shirt, his fight shorts and his pre-fight banner at UFC 83, set for April 19th at Canada's Bell Centre.

"This is a first for us, sponsorship of an athlete," says Donruss Acquisitions Manager Samantha Newman, who worked with Serra's camp to close the deal. "But Matt has proven himself to be the ultimate fighter at the welterweight level, and we're very proud to be associated with him."

Both Serra and St. Pierre are scheduled to be a part of the Ring Kings mixed martial arts insert set in Donruss Americana II, set for a July release.

Serra was considered an underdog going into his first bout with St. Pierre, but made believers out of UFC® fans when he was ruled the winner at the 3:25 mark of the first round. Serra, 33, carries a 16-4 record into the bout.

The 23rd Annual Hawaii Trade Conference - Phoenix Edition, is being held stateside for the second year in a row and is set to kick-off this weekend. Donruss will again be opening things with a "bang" by sponsoring the registration portion of this year's industry trade conference. The event opens Sunday with the Donruss reception scheduled to take place from 2 - 5 p.m. at the San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz.

2008 Donruss Celebrity Cuts - Lindsay Wagner: "Bionic Woman" Non-Sports Card

Actress Lindsay Wagner, best known for starring in the popular 1970s TV series, "The Bionic Woman," will be Donruss' special guest at the reception. Wagner is among the celebrities who have signed autographs for Donruss Celebrity Cuts, which is scheduled to releases next week. After picking up their registration packets, attendees will be able to socialize with Lindsay and other Donruss employees, while enjoying refreshments and catching the tail-end of the Masters. 4.9.2008 It's Awesome Baby...Newest Hall of Famer Signs With Donruss
 

Arlington, TX - Official at Donruss announced today that the newest member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, Dick Vitale, has signed his very first autograph agreement with the company. Donruss recently completed the signing with the enthusiastic Vitale, known for his catch phrases and high-energy commentary for ESPN.

"It's amazing that in the competitive basketball market you can still find someone this popular that hasn't had a certified autograph card," said Marketing Director Scott Prusha. "This is another FIRST for the industry and another way we are creatively providing content that nobody else has to make the Americana and Elite Extra Edition Series the most popular in the industry."

Dick Vitale will make his debut in Donruss Americana II, set to release this summer. He is also set to make an appearance in the popular collegiate themed product, Donruss Elite Extra Edition. Vitale signed stickers as well as several of his catch-phrase notations on cuts including: "Its Awesome Baby" , "Dickie V" , "Mr. College Basketball" and "Dipsy Doo Dunkeroo".

Vitale's career started in the coaching ranks, first for the University of Detroit and then for the NBA's Detroit Pistons. After being released from his duties with the Pistons, he decided to take a job at a little known television station ESPN, at least until another coaching job became available. We all know where ESPN went and the 2008-09 seasons will be Vitale's 30th with the juggernaut.

3.20.2008 Topps Announces Plans for its Newest Collectible Card Franchise - Indiana Jones
 

After a nearly 25-year hiatus, Topps is back together with Indiana Jones.

The storied card marketer, who offered Raiders of the Lost Ark cards in 1981 and Temple of Doom cards in 1984, plans an ongoing program around everyone’s favorite action-adventure hero.

In comic and hobby stores today-, Indiana Jones Heritage takes a retrospective look back at the original movies – Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade. Complete with packaging and card designs inspired by Topps earlier work with the property, Indiana Jones Heritage has a decidedly vintage, “old school” feel. Many memorable, iconic scenes are included in this 90-card, triple movie treat. Plus, reminiscent of Topps cards from yesteryear, packs include one piece of bubble gum.

ToppsTV's new video, which spotlights the company’s artist sketch cards, has just debuted on multiple sites, including YouTube and Veoh.com. 2008 Topps Indiana Jones Non-Sports Card

The second phase of the program commences prior to the theatrical release of the new movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  While the film premieres in theaters on Memorial Day weekend, Topps will ship its all-movie series to hobby, specialty and mass merchandisers on May 1. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie cards promise to be a worthy companion to the highly anticipated film and a treasured keepsake for years to come.

The Indiana Jones property has inspired many talented artists whose work has adorned familiar movie posters as well as the covers of numerous books and comics.  A fine selection of these breathtaking images – plus newly commissioned, never-before-seen works – will comprise the program’s third card series, Indiana Jones Masterpieces. Planned for release around the holidays, Indiana Jones Masterpieces follows in the tradition of Topps’ highly successful, all-art-based Lord of the Rings Masterpieces.
