WWE Ultimate Rivals by Topps is the latest edition to the long running series of WWE cards to be released! There is a really good mix of WWE (or "WWF" at that time) legends and current superstars. It's always nice to see some of the all-time-greats honored by getting their faces put on some of the newest releases. Topps has also added a great new "Flip 'N Fight" game to each card. Topps non-sports cards boxes are usually pretty consistent about giving collectors the opportunity to complete at least one set of base cards, and this box of WWE Ultimate Rivals was no exception. We were able to complete one full base set and almost a whole second complete base set from just one review box. In addition to all the base cards we got, there were also three "Flix Pix" action cards as well as a "Ringside Relics" card featuring an authentic event worn shirt which was worn by Matt Hardy. We were very fortunate to be able to pull a "Ringside Relics" card since there is only one of them inserted in about every TWO boxes. The "Flix Pix" cards are really hard to capture in a scan, but they're the type of cards that actually look like they pictures on them are moving when you tilt the card forward and backwards. These types of cards are pretty cool to look at in person, but very difficult to be able to show in a picture (or even video for that matter).
The authentic event worn shirt card that was in the TradingCardReviews review box is definitely a great pull for WWE Ultimate Rivals. It's not as nice as getting an autograph, but a great pull nonetheless. As with most Topps products, the inserts did not dissapoint. Also, as I said above, the base set is a really nice set that features both legends as well as the new, young superstars. The new "Flip 'N Fight" is also a really innovative idea to allow for a two player game with these cards. Topps has once again done a great job with this offering of WWE Ultimate Rivals from their Entertainment department!
Thanks again for checking out another great non-sports card review from Trading Card Reviews!! |
