Topps' latest offering of 2008 Topps Finest Baseball is once again a great box to be able to get your hands on. It brings all of the best features from Finest sets of the past and is highlighted by this year's hottest rookie cards of guys like Clay Buchholz, Chin-Lung Hu, and J.R. Towles.
MLB Opening Day 2008 just makes you think "What a great time to be a baseball fan". The start of a new season has everyone's hopes high that their team will still be on top at the end. 2008 Topps Finest has a great group of promising young rookies scattered throughout the product. Who will be the star rookies presented in this year's 10 Rookie Card Redemtion program? The rookie redemptions are inserted 1 per master box. The Trading Card Reviews box held #4 of 10. Topps' refractor technology cannot be beat and it's shown off brilliantly again in this year's Finest product. These many versions of parallel cards are just beauties.
The lowest serial numbered card in the TCR box was is a sweet rookie Gold Refractor (#/50) of Diamondback's pitcher Bill Murphy. The three guaranteed autographs per box are a great addition to an already amazing set. What makes these autographs better than most other autos out there on the market today is that they're on-card autographs! It's great to see that Topps is taking the opinions of it's collectors and doing all they can to insert as many on-card autos as possible into their products. The autographs in the Trading Card Reviews box were all really nice. The first auto was (from the Finest Moments insert set) of Jeremy Accardo who had 30 saves last year and could top 50 this year if he keeps up the good work. The other two autos are talented rookies who will be making names for themselves in the upcoming 2008 MLB season. Clay Buchholz, the first pick of the Red Sox in 2005, has the stuff that no-hitters are made of. The third auto is a Blue Refractor of up and coming Chin-Lung Hu, who is sure to be a stud for the Dodgers for years to come. Plus, Topps is continuing their A-Rod Road to 500 set inserted in the box loader. #339 & #340 were in TCR's box of 2008 Topps Finest Baseball.
Thanks again for checking out another great baseball card review from Trading Card Reviews!
